There's no place like Hungary

In just two weeks I am traveling to Hungary for 3 weeks about which I couldn't be more excited. I have been travelling the world (well, Europe) since  I was 16 but seriously, I couldn't find anything that compares to Hungary. There are two main stereotypes about my little country. One of them is that it's boring since we don't have a sea or high mountains. The second one is that Hungary is equal to Budapest and there's no life outside. Well, I have to prove these two stereotypes wrong. Purposefully, none of today's pictures are from Budapest.

Haute Knock Off - Check Point Louis // Koppintsd le!

Tuesday Picks / Ked(d)vtelés 23072013

1. Alexa Chung is very controversial in my eyes. While I love her style (who doesn't?) I simply find her antipathetic in interviews. Lately she's in the spotlight again thanks to her upcoming book that will hit the stores in September and her collaboration with luxurious online store, mytheresa.com. The picture above is the result of the latter, she is wearing a fluffy, pink sweater with leather miniskirt and leopard booties - exactly my kind of autumn outfit. ♥ Alexa Chung egy igen ellentmondásos személy a szememben. Bár a stílusát imádom, a vele készült interjúkban egyszerűen ellenszenvesnek tűnik. Az utóbbi időben megint reflektorfénybe került a 29 éves it-girl, ugyanis szeptemberben jelenik meg első könyve és nemrég a mytheresa.com nevű online luxusáruházzal működött együtt egy projekt erejéig. Ennek keretében készült a fent látható fotó is, amiben Alexa egy puha kötött pulcsit, bőr miniszoknyát és leopárd bokacsizmát visel - számomra ilyen egy ideális őszi szett.

2. I'm so picky when it comes to t-shirts with quotes on them. I would never wear a top with something stupid, nonsense or mainstream written all over it. However, I love me some chic or niche quotes and my most recent fashion discovery, the Fashaves web store offers exactly that. (Some examples are: "I want Marant" or "I"m such a Carrie".) We all know white t-shirts are important wardrobe staples and these tees are best to team with leather shorts and miniskirts. They also have some funny totes ("it-bag my ass!")  and rumor has it soon they start to sell some other kind of clothes and accessories, too. 3. Whilst last week's hairstyle pick was something I would never dare to do on my own head, this week I show you something I actually tried and loved last weekend (learned from Ivania). The double parted ponytail took me 30 minutes, 4 hands (my boyfriend's and mine), a comb, a hairbrush and some serious amount of hairspray, but it was well worth it! This edgy style will look terrific when you are wearing monochrome outfits. ♥ A hétvégén kipróbáltam egy különleges de letisztult frizurát, a dupla választékos lófarkat. Csupán 30 percet, 4 (ügyetlen) kezet, egy fésűt, egy hajkefét és egy fél flakon (túlzok!) hajlakkot vett igénybe, de megérte! 4. During summer drink plenty of water with lemon slices. As simple as that. No sugar, no additives, no guilty. This week I am doing a gluten-free challenge. Nothing compares to a bunch of Strellson models

Alrighty, so I hope my boyfriend forgets to read my blog for a little while... even though this post is his fault at the first place! Strellson is a Swiss men apparel brand with an outstanding brand experience. When we visited their store in Düsseldorf they kindly offered us some refreshments as soon as we entered. Later they were also very helpful in choosing a piece of clothing for my man. And while he was wandering around the silky soft sweaters and well-tailored shirts I couldn't help but notice all the handsome models they use in their ads and editorials.

HAUTE KNOCK OFF - Revenge in Paradise // Koppintsd le! - Bosszú a Paradicsomban

This week's Haute Knock Off is inspired by the "Singular Sensation" editorial in the June issue of Elle US. Bambi Northwood is being portrayed as Eve who returned to Paradise for revenge. She rolled that sneaky snake around her arms and neck to wear it as an accessory. (It's just my fantasy going wild, no religious offense!) No matter what fashion magazines say about the upcoming fall season, summer is still  here (and brace yourself, the September issue is coming, when you put your faux fur vest in 90 degrees under the influence of Anna Wintour), and a one-piece swimsuit is a great way to embrace your shape and your glam vintage dreams.

Ezen a héten az amerikai Elle júniusi számában látható divatanyagból koppintottam le egy összeállítást. A fotósorozat Bambi Northwood-ot Évaként ábrázolja, aki visszatért a Paradicsomba, hogy bosszút álljon a kígyón. És a bosszú kegyetlen, Éva a csuklója köré csavarva örökkévalóságig szenved majd a kígyó divatos kiegészítőként. Mivel a nyár még mindig erősen képviselteti magát, ezért ha még nem tetted volna épp ideje beszerezni egy egyrészes fürdőruhát, amivel kiemelheted alakod és valóra válthatod retro álmaid.

Tuesday Picks // Ked(d)vtelés 16072013

1. The lookbook of Isabel Marant's Étoile line's fall/winter collection is just breathtakingly beautiful. The warm knitted sweaters, knee high boots and loafers almost make me looking forward the colder months. (I said almost. I'm not really looking forward winter when summer in Holland just started a week ago.) 2.  Leopard is my ultimate favorite when it comes to animal print. Even though I would not wear dresses I really love to sport scarves, belts, shoes and bags in this wild animal print. I didn't think leopard hair was possible, but as you can see on the picture, everything is possible. I'm not sure I would ever dye my hair like this but it is sure as hell looks good on the runway. ♥ Ugyan mértékkel, de a leopárd az egyik kedvenc mintám, ha kiegészítőkről van szó: legyen az cipő, táska, sál vagy öv. És bár soha nem hittem volna, hogy egyszer majd a leopárdos haj is lehetséges lesz, íme egy street style fotó, ami minden feltételezésem cáfolja. Nem tervezem a hajam ily' radikális módon történő átalakítását, a nagymacska-frizura azonban nagyszerűen festhetett a kifutón.

3. A few months ago I learned how silicon ruins your hair and that it's something quite hard to avoid because silicon can be found basically in 90% of all hair products. Therefore I was more than happy when I came across the Rainforest hair care line of Body Shop that is not only totally free of silicons, but also of sulfates, colorants and parabens. Oh, and it is fair trade. Pár hónapja hallottam először a szilikon hajroncsoló hatásáról. ♥ Igen ám, de nem is olyan egyszerű elkerülni, mint gondolnánk, ugyanis a samponok és egyéb hajápoló készítmények nagyjából 90%-tartalmaz különböző szilikonokat. Szerencsére a Body Shop kínálatában találkoztam a Rainforest termékcsaláddal, amelyek nem csak szilikontól, de színezékektől, parabéntől és szulfátoktól is mentesek. 

4. My weekly challenge: This week I need to do some exercises at least 5 days out of 7. I have completed the first two days already (arm and leg day in the gym) and tomorrow I am going to try pilates for the first time in my life. What are you going to do for your health this week? Will you join me in this challenge? ♥ Heti kihívás: ezen a héten legalább ötször kell valamilyen mozgásformát gyakorolnom. Az első két napot már teljesítettem a konditeremben, és holnap életemben először próbálom majd ki a pilatest. Te mit teszel az egészségedért ezen a héten?

OUTFIT I

I was doubting whether I should do it or not but in the end my ego won: here's my first "outfit post" shot on Ile de Porquerolles in a teeny communal garden. I really don't feel comfortable showing myself around on the web (so why are you doing it for f***'s sake??) but on the other hand, I felt really comfortable in this outfit. It was so basic and so easy to put together yet I felt well dressed, if you know what I mean (you probably don't, do you?). I don't want to bore you with fashion blogger details (which I am not) about how versatile each pieces are (even though they really are, we are talking about a white t-shirt and black leather mini skirt) I just want to emphasize how important it is to feel confident in each and every outfit you wear. And excuse the schizo-me in the brackets.

Nem vagyok teljesen meggyőződve arról, hogy jó ötlet egy képet megosztani magamról az éterben, de az egóm nyert: itt az első "outfit bejegyzés" tőlem (ahogy azt blogger-berkekben nevezik). A fotó Ile de Porquerolles-on készült egy aprócska botanikus kertben, ami többek között égig érő pálmafáknak, émelyítően illatos levendulabokroknak és méhek hadait vonzó színesebbnél színesebb virágoknak ad otthont. Ebben a fehér póló-bőrszoknya összeállításban valahogy különösen jól éreztem magam, ami nem elhanyagolandó szempont.

Haute Knock Off - Orange Hues // Koppintsd le: narancs árnyalatok

I gave myself a bit more artistic freedom when I put this Haute Knock Off outfit together, but kept the main characteristics of the Moschino runway outfit: stripes and orange. My favorite piece is the orange fake pony skin ASOS clutch - it must be sooo soft! And about the orange lipstick: I always wanted to give it a try, I might as well do it this summer!

Kicsit szabadabban értelmeztem a képen látható Moschino összeállítást és csak a legfontosabb jellemvonásait, a csíkokat és a narancssárga színt használtam fel a lekoppintott szetthez. A hosszanti csíkozás alaknyújtó képessége nem csupán legenda, viselj hát tetőtől talpig függőleges csíkokat az extra hatás elérése érdekében! Idén nyáron a narancssárga egyre több teret hódított magának a ruhaboltok polcain, de a túlzásba esés elkerülése végett maradj olyan apró kiegészítőknél, mint egy kézitáska vagy egy leheletnyi narancs rúzs.

1. Don't you just love the first preview of "Isabel Marant pour H&M" collection on the designer herself? It's not the first time that I say I will buy EVERYTHING from an H&M designer collaboration that will be in stores on 14 November, but now I really mean it. ♥ Hát nem imádni való ez a kép Isabel Marantról, amelyen a H&M-nek tervezett kollekciójának darabjaiban pózol? A képen látható laza, derékban meghúzott, hosszú ujjú mintás ruha és a Marant cipőire oly' jellemző háromszög alakú sarkakkal ellátott rojtos bokacsizma a tervezőtől megszokott stílust képviselik és méltán kerülnek az őszi-téli kívánságlisták élére. A svéd divatház és a párizsi designer együttműködésének gyümölcse november 14-től lesz elérhető.

2. Last week I forgot to bring a hat to France and since my head is very sensitive (I have headaches on a weekly basis) I could choose: or I buy one on the island we stayed (which would cost me 5 times more than usual) or I could come up with something more creative and so I did: I wore my beloved leopard scarf that I carry with me almost everywhere (a present from my mum) as a turban. It's not only good against the sun but it looks chic! On YouTube you can find many videos how to make one, here's my favorite. ♥ Nem csak a bőrünket, de a fejünket is nagyon fontos megvédeni a nap káros sugaraitól. Ha nem szereted a kalapokat, vagy csak egyszerűen elfelejtesz fejfedőt csomagolni a nyaralásra, mint én tettem múlt héten, akkor próbáld ki a sálakból készíthető turbánt, amely nagyon sikkesen mutat majd egy maxi ruhával és szépen kiemelt szemekkel. YouTube-on rengeteg videót találhatsz, amelyek megmutatják, hogyan kell elkészíteni különböző típusú turbánokat, ide kattintva megnézheted a kedvencem.

3. I came across the, Huile Prodigieuse skin and hair oil in a French pharmacy (where else?) and they say that it is the ULTIMATE beauty secret of French women and makes wonders to the skin. In the end I decided not to buy it, but I already found a Dutch webpage where I can click it home. You can read more here. ♥ Franciaország híres a patikáiról, amelyek általában sokkal több kincset rejtenek, mint egy egyszerű gyógyszertár. Ott találkoztam például ezzel a száraz olajjal is (Huile Prodigieuse), ami állítólag a francia nők gyönyörű bőrének első számú titka. Az olaj egy szempillantás alatt felszívódik, hidratál, valamint helyreállítja az igénybe vett arcbőrt, bőrt vagy akár a hajat is. A 98,1%-ban természetes összetevőkből álló termék elvileg beszerezhető magyar gyógyszertárakban is (de én még nem győződtem meg róla:). Itt többet is olvashatsz róla.

4.Maybe I mentioned it here already but a water spray on holidays and road trips is essential! ♥ Talán már említettem a blogon, de most, hogy meg is tapasztaltam, bizton állíthatom, a vízspray nélkülözhetetlen kiegészítője egy forró nyári napnak.

5. One of my favorite summer recipes: melon with parma or serrano ham. Easy to prepare, low in calories and perfect finger food for summer parties. ♥ Sárgadinnye Parma vagy serrano sonkával: kevés az ennél elegánsabb nyári előétel, ami még az alakodra is vigyáz. Ha olyan vendégeket vársz, akiket illik lenyűgözni, akkor ezzel nem nagyon lőhetsz mellé (azért előbb győződj meg róla, hogy nem-e vegetáriánus az illusztris vendég ;)

Haute Knock Off - Print Skirt // Koppintsd le: mintás szoknya

In the Haute Knock Off series I always try to show outfits that are wearable and very easy to imitate but also very stylish. Similar to the one of last week this photo has also been taken in Milan during the Men's Fashion Week by Tommy Ton. I don't know how the lady managed to cycle in this skirt without some serious knicker-flashing, but she does look stunning.  You will find similar printed skirts to this in almost all high street shops and right now they are even on sale. Complete the outfit with a simple lose-fitting tee and a pair of nude heels and you are ready to go!

Mindig igyekszem olyan összeállításokat hozni, amelyeket egyszerű "lekoppintani", viselhetőek, de mégis nagyon stílusosak. Ez a kép a múlthetihez hasonlóan a milánói férfi divathéten készült. Fogalmam sincs, hogy a Tommy Ton által lencsevégre kapott hölgy hogyan tud biciklizni ebben a szűk szoknyában bugyivillantás nélkül, de kétségkívül nagyon jól néz ki benne. Hasonló mintás szoknyákkal tele vannak idén nyáron az üzletek és ha szerencséd van leértékelve tudsz beszerezni egy neked tetsző darabot. Egészítsd ki egy nude színű magassarkúval és egy egyszerű, bő szabású pólóval, és máris stílusosan vághatsz neki a napodnak!

Nothing compares to Provence

When you are reading this post I will most probably be at one of the places where these photos have been shot. It will be my second time in Provence, I am returning one year after falling in love with this picturesque region on the southern coasts of France. Some of the photos above have been taken by me that time.

Amikor ezt a bejegyzést olvassátok valószínűleg a fent látható fotók egyikének helyszínén leszek éppen. Ez a második alkalom, hogy Provence-ba látogatok pont egy évvel azután, hogy szerelembe estem Dél-Franciaország ezen mesés vidékével. A fentiek közül pár képet én készítettem tavaly.
